Hello, my name is Carly Taplin and I am the childminder at Carly’s Angels. At the time of writing, I have been childminding for 15 years and bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and care to my setting.

I am also an experienced mum of six children, ranging in age from a 22-year-old to 7-year-old twins. This personal experience has given me a deep understanding of children’s individual needs, personalities, and developmental stages.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with children in the early years, children with special educational needs, and families with multiple births. This experience supports my calm, flexible, and inclusive approach to childcare.

At Carly’s Angels, I provide high-quality, child-led childcare in a nurturing and supportive environment. I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and understood. Behaviour is viewed as a form of communication, and children are supported with empathy, patience, and respect.

My practice follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We support all areas of learning and development. Through play-based, meaningful experiences, children are supported across the prime areas of communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development, as well as the specific areas of literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

Every child is recognised as an individual, and learning opportunities are planned around their interests, strengths, and developmental needs to help them grow with confidence and curiosity.

We understand that the early years is such an important time in a child’s development and we have been trusted to help guide and shape your child’s future. We ensure that we are helping each individual child develop in all areas of the EYFS curriculum.

Carly’s Angels was founded in 2011

I thoroughly love working with children and having an influence on their development in such a crucial stage of their lives, the early years.

All of our staff are at the least fully DBS checked, paediatric first aid trained, hold a level 3 safeguarding qualification and have a food and hygiene qualification.

During the pandemic, due to my own children having to home school, we transitioned from my home to the Ebury Edge community hall two days days a week to ensure parents were able to continue working and children could continue to thrive and socialise. It has been a success ever since.

I work with a maximum of 3 assistants and we now have a sensory room that children can access as a part of their time with us. This will be accessed in small groups or 1-1 or 1-2 sessions, helping to contribute to all areas of their development.

At our setting we truly understand that every child is unique and has come to us with different life experiences. We are there to help your child develop, thrive and learn, but most importantly be happy!

Children have started with us as young as five months old and very often stay with us for many years until they move on to nursery or even school. We like to be involved in this transition and always hope to keep in contact once your child moves on.
